Tony Harnell & Mercury Train / Round Trip (2010)

I'm glad to see and hear Tony Harnell back in business again. Harnell was and is still one of my favourite singers ever. What can everyone say about this singer? Harnell has offered some really great moments in the past especially with his main band , back then, TNT. After his departure from TNT, Harnell formed a new band Westworld with Bruno Ravel from Danger Danger. With Westworld they released 3 full records and one live one. In 2005 together with guitarist Magnus Karlsson (Last Tribe, Allen-Lande e.t.c.) they created the super melodic metal act Starbreaker.
So, nowdays we have Harnell's brand new band/project  'Tony Harnell & Mercury Train' with their first album, Round Trip. "Round Trip" is a trip back to Harnell's days with TNT, Westworld and Starbreaker with an acoustic mood, plus one new track 'Anywhere but Here'. Tony grabbed some friends in New York that are not a part of the Metal/Hard Rock scene and turned his own songs on their heads. With all new arrangements, key changes and added parts, it's like listening to songs you know in a whole new way. A very interesting way, I have to admit. The performances are all very good and Harnell's voice is on top form once again.
Bottom line is that this album is very enjoyable with great performances all the way. My only argument is that I would like some new, harder, tunes from Mr. Harnell. A re-unite with TNT or a new Starbreaker album maybe?
