Ratt is a band that have released some great discs in the past. "Out Of The Cellar ", "Invasion of Your Privacy" and "Detonator" are classics , in my book. Stephen Pearcy was a very charismatic singer, with a smooth and sleaze voice, a big trademark for Ratt's sound back in the 80's. Also their lead guitarist Warren DeMartini was ,and still is for me, one of the best guitarists back then with some amazing and inspired solos and riffs! But that was then.
Nowdays I have their brand new album "Infestation" in my hands. First of all, Stephen Pearcy's voice is on top form, like a day has not gone by. In this one they have hired Carlos Cavazo as a second guitarist and man they make the perfect duo with Warren DeMartini. The guitar sound is crunchy, heavy at moments with some amazing solos. Really cool guitar sound, in a way that reminds their glory 80's dayz!! The songs have an 80's touch without any modern elements, only good old fashioned sleaze Rock N' Roll. For me "Infestation" is the perfect follow-up record to "Detonator". All in all this is a great comeback from one of the best hard rock bands ever....RATT !!! Well done.
