Unruly Child / Waiting For The Sun (1998)

Second album for Unruly Child and this time the man behind the microphones is Kelly Hansen, best known for his earlier works with Hurricane, and I have to admit that he is doin' an excellent work. I'm a big fan of the band's first super album with Mark Free which was,is and it's gonna be one of my favourite albums ever.Ok this album may not be a classic one as their self-titled, but it's a great one too.In this album we find some earlier songs that  Gowdy has written and, also, some new recordings; the new songs written by Hansen and Gowdy are the outstanding tracks of the album. The music aproach of the album is a bit softer than it was in their debut effort but the whole result is almost perfect, and I say 'almost' because, in my opinion, there are a couple of average tunes in the album. Highlights of "Waiting For The Sun" are the fantastic and anthemic opener "Heart Run Free", "Rise Up ", which starts with an acoustic laid-back tune and gets better better as it continues, the huge "Forever" (is one of two tracks pulled from the Unruly Child sessions that would become the Marcie Free Tormented release) a fantastic track, "Do You Ever Think Of Me ", "Fool Again", a track which is very different to Unruly Child's standards. Also the track that closes the album titled "Waiting For The Sun " is a very good song. Overall, a very good record for Unruly Child; some re-works here, some new recordings, a very good production and a bunch of high skilled musicians make this album a must have! Enjoy....
