Bonfire / Rebel Soul (1997)

Bonfire's sixth album and far better than "Feels Like Comin' Home " but also far away than their first 3 masterpieces! I'm really missing the energy that they had in "Fireworks" or "Point Black". In this one they are trying to mix the hard rock of their old glory days with some AOR and some southern elements!!! In "Rebel Soul" you can find some instant "hits" with nice catchy choruses and melodies or even some really cool solos but for sure this is NOT even close to their previous works. Ok, I'm not saying that a band should repeat themselves over and over again but with bands such as Bonfire you are waiting something better with energy and more powerfull. So, the best tracks here , in my opinion, are :  Wake Up , Lay Your Heart on the Line , Hearts Bleed Their Own Blood , the cover tune of The First Cut is the Deepest and Rock Me Til I Die .
