REVIEW : David Reece, Blacklist Utopia (El Puerto Records Release: 29 October 2021)

David Reece is without any doubt one of the biggest names in the melodic hard 'n' heavy world. His works with ACCEPT, BANGALORE CHOIR and BONFIRE are the living proof of what I mentioned above.

Reece has released albums as a solo artist and also with the band of SAINTED SINNERS. Nowadays, Reece is back with his brand new effort entitled "Blacklist Utopia".

The first highlight of the new album comes with the fast-paced rocker of "Red Blooded Hell Raiser". This is a typical Reece song by any meaning; up-tempo, punchy, very melodic and with Reece's unique vocals in front row. The heavier "Civil War" is solid while with "I Can't Breathe" we are dealing with yet another heavy song with a big groove, Reece's more aggressive vocals and with more 'deep' lyrics !!! "Most Of The Time", "Before We Fade Away" and "Devil At My Doorstep" are all three strong samples out of this new opus. Check out, also, the up-beat and massive hard rock dynamite of "Highway Child"!!

All in all, Reece's brand new "Blacklist Utopia" is an extremely interesting record all the way! It's damn heavy, it includes some killer tracks in it, a tight musicianship but, most of all, David Reece's unique vocals that will amaze you.
