REVIEW : Federal Charm / Across The Divide (2015)

Federal Charm is a newbie in the melodic rock/blues rock scene and their goal with the brand new "Across The Divide" is to shake the scene a bit with their solid classic rock sound. Based on bands such as Led Zeppelin and Allman Brothers, Federal Charm rich their sound with a more updated sound and the result is very very attractive.

Federal Charm will be extensively promoting ‘Across The Divide’ throughout the Autumn of 2015 and on into 2016. Initially, in September and October, as special guests on the Planet Rock sponsored by  Joanne Shaw Taylor UK outing. 20-plus dates culminating in two sold-out shows at The Jazz CafĂ©, London. Thereafter, Federal Charm go it alone, headlining club dates and making festival appearances.

As I already mentioned above, Federal Charm's sound is basically classic rock with a strong emphasis on melodies, 'crunchy' guitars and very good vocals. Plus to the above a strong blues vibe and there you have "Across The Divide". The songs that stands out from the new record are the groovier "Guess What", the bluesier "No More" (that reminded me of Kotzen's works), the perfect Rock 'n' roller "Give Me Something", "Push" and the amazing ballad of "Walk Away (Time and Time Again)".

A really interesting release all the way that can't be missed by any fan of the rock scene in general. Highly recommended. It will charm you.........
