EYES 'N' LIPS / Pornstar For President (2014)

At first sight on the band's name but, also, on the front cover artwork it's clear that here we have to deal with a band that is tryin' to glorify the 80's, early 90's, hard rock scene. Eyes 'n' Lips were originally formed in 2011 when drummer Vik and guitarist Gypsy had one thing on their mind; to create a band that would be loyal to bands that made a huge impact back in the 80's. Both musicians searched for the 'right' persons to complete the band's line-up and in a while Eyes 'n' Lips was a fact.

The band played in several venues, including Blue Rose Saloon (Bresso, Milan, Italy) as opening act for Adam Bomb and the Theatre (Rozzano, Milan) supporting L.A. Guns. In 2013, the band inked a deal with Street Symphonies Records to record its debut “Pornstar For President”.

The music here is, as I already mentioned above, is pure sleaze hard rock in the vain L.A. Guns, Motley Crue, Shotgun Messiah and generally the Sunstrip glory days, which means loud 'n' 'dirty' guitars, sleaze lyrics, catchy to the bone choruses, attitude and some punkier elements here and there ! Highlights here are the fast-paced opener "Jack And Daniel", the sleaze and my personal favorite "Fuckin' Obsessive", the more commercial "Bring Me To Your Paradise" and "Day After Day".

It's only Rock 'n' Roll and I like it! Yes, Eyes 'N' Lips surprised me in a very good way with their "Pornstar For President". Pure up-tempo sleaze hard rock stuff and the last thing that I have to add is that I enjoyed every single minute of it and I'm looking forward for their next step.
