Toby Hitchcock is a singer and he is well-known as the lead shouter of Melodic Rock band Pride Of Lions. "Mercury's Down" is the artist's debut album and it's about a superb piece of high quality Melodic Rock stuff. For this album, Toby, had the helping hand of the mighty Erik Martensson (Eclipse, W.E.T), who written and produced "Mercury's Down".
The album contains twelve Melodic Rock gems with big and memorable choruses, great guitar work, huge melodic lines and, most of all, great performances from one of the most talented today's vocalists. In some parts, the album sounds 'heavier' than Pride Of Lions, and that's 'cause of the contibution of Erik Martensson . "This Is The Moment" is the first single of this release and it's an up-tempo rocker with a brilliant chorus line and a huge melody. Tracks like "Tear Down The Baricades", "Let Go", "Strong Enough" and "A Different Drum" are all perfect samples of pure Melodic Rock bliss and fill us with positive energy with their up-tempo rhythm.
Bottom line is that "Mercury's Down" is a brilliant record. It has positive energy, melody, passion and a great musicianship! For sure, this album is a highlight and it's highly recommended for every fan of Melodic Rock out there!
