SKANSIS / LEAVING YOU (2011)

Switzerland is well-known, musically, for GOTTHARD and KROKUS, but expect from these two monster bands another excellent group from this country, SKANSIS, is trying to build a reputation around their name. "Leaving You" is the brand new album from SKANSIS and it's about a solid album full of catchy tracks, passionate performances and some nice guitar riffs and solos.

As I said above, SKANSIS is playin' ballsy melodic hard rock with plenty of melodies and passionate performances. They sound somewhere between Gotthard, Krokus, Shakra but, also, they took elements from the new melodic hard rock era without sounding boring or trivial. They are tryin' to put their own indentity to their sound and the result is overall good. They have all the energry and musicianship to take them to a higher level and that is showing to their music!! There are plenty of songs in "Leaving You" that are going to shake you such as  "I Don't Believe You", "Rock All Night" and the darker tune of "I Want You", to name a few.

Overall, this is a solid release. For sure, it's not the album of the year! It's a well-crafted melodic hard rock album with some really interesting moments in it. The fact is that this is a very talented band and for sure they have the skills to make something bigger in the near future.
