LIONVILLE / LIONVILLE (2011)

What is the result if you mix a little bit of W.E.T., Work Of Art, Shining Line, Street Talk and a strong dose of 80's AOR? The answer is simple; LIONVILLE! This is a new project and the mastermind behind this is Stefano Lionetti, a famous Italian musician and songwriter. I have to say that the rest of the musicians that participate in this project are impressive! Here we go : Pierpaolo "Zorro" Monti who is well-known from his last year's work with the stunning Shining Line project, the mighty Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge Of forever, Eden's Curse), Lars Säflund (Work Of Art) on vocals, Bruce Gaitsch (Richard Marx, Chicago, Peter Cetera), Tommy Denander, Eric Martensson (W.E.T., Eclipse), Sven Larsson (Street Talk), Arabella Vitanc (Alyson Avenue) and more.

So, with such an impressive team of musicians you can't go wrong with this brand's new project. The sound of the album, as you all can assume from the musician list, is pure AOR/Melodic Rock stuff with great harmonies, catchy chorus lines and great guitar work! Two years ago it was W.E.T. that rocked my world, last year it was Shining Line and this year the big surprise is for sure Lionville! "Here By My Side", which opens the album, is a great melodic rocker with some stunning harmonies. "With You" brings some 80's, early 90's, melodic mid-tempo sounding ala Bad English while "Power Of My Dreams"  rocks in such a great way! Other highlights here are the fantastic tune of "Dreamhunter", the cover of  "Thunder In Your Heart" and "No End In Sight".

Bottom line is that Lionville is a great project all the way. It has some nice arrangements, big harmonies and everything that an AOR/Melodic Rock fan could ask for. For sure, this album will end up high in this year's Top albums at many sites! Well done!
