LITTLE ANGELS / DON'T PRAY FOR ME (1989)

Scarborough's favourites sons, LITTLE ANGELS, came onto the hard rock with their full debut album and showed to the rock world that they had it all to become big rock stars! "Don't Pray For Me" was the band's first, full, album and it was originally released in 1989. This release put the Angels in to the U.K. hard rock super league and led to support slots opening for Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns `N' Roses and Van Halen.

"Don't Prey For Me" was for many years a hard to find album but in 2009 was re-released including some bonus tracks. As I said in a previous, "Young Gods", review, the Little Angels was the Britt answer to Bon Jovi. They had a very talented singer with such a powerfull voice, the guitar sound was big and 'fat' but, most of all, they had a strong and tight musicianship! Their songs, in the debut, were all well written, even if in some parts some big choruses are missing, and for sure the sound was heavier than in their next record. Highlights here are the hard hittin' opener tune of "Do You Wanna Riot", the big hit "Kickin' Up Dust" wich was, also, an MTV airplay, "Don't Pray For Me" and the ultra anthemic "When I Get Out Of Here".

All in all, this is a must have for all the Little Angels fans but, most of all, this album is a great sample of 80's heavy rock stuff! Buy it!
