LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM / YES (2010 -Japan Version)

LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM is really a great band. Their first album was, and still is, a classic release. Even though this band was formed in 2004, they achieved to release seven high quality efforts. Their music is simple, melodic with catchy songs and a tight musicianship. Mikael Erlandsson, their lead singer, has an amazing voice and this guy is probably one of the best frontmans in today's melodic scene. After the sudden loss of the great Marcel Jacob (R.I.P.), the band stood in their feet and continue their mission. And which is their mission? To release great albums!

So, "Yes" is the latest album from Last Autumn's Dream. This album opens with 'I've Fallen Into You'. And what a great track to start this album! A guitar driven song with such a feel-good chorus line. 'The Sound Of A Heartbreak' is a typical L.A.D. song. It has a strong vibe in it and again a sing-a-long chorus. 'Another Night' is really a huge tune! Huge melody and amazing performance by M. Erlandsson can describe this beautiful song! The next one, 'Fool's Game',  is a cover song. It's a cover of the classic tune appeared in Michael Bolton's  debut. Originally a rocker, but L.A.D. has filled the song with a poppy-AOR flavour, and the result is just brilliant!! 'If I Could Change The World' is a nice ballad while 'To Be With You' is an up-tempo rocker with a memorable chorus and a fantastic solo.

'Michelle Don't Live Here No More' is an excellent tune! It's one of these poppy-rock tunes that Last Autumn's Dream do so well. One of my favourite tunes here. 'In This Thing Too Deep' & 'Still Standin' Where Ya Left Me' are both cool Euro melodic rock tracks. 'Kissin' Goodbye My Tears' (Jeff Paris/Moon Calhoun song from the 'Moon Over Paris' demos)  is a monsterous song! From the very first notes you know what to expect; an up-tempo and anthemic rocker with attitude! Just brilliant! 'Survivor' is maybe the weakest track here. 'I Forgive You' is the heaviest track in 'Yes'. The song that closes the album is 'Alive'. It's a slower one but with such a feeling in it! A beautiful track!

All in all, 'Yes' is a really amazing album. It has melodies that stick into your mind from the very first listening, solid guitar work and strong performances! I can't say if this is Last Autumn's Dream best album to date but, is an album that will please every fan of quality melodic hard rock music. Buy it!!
