VOODOO BUNNY - VOODOO BUNNY

THE STORY ......

Voodoo Bunny was formed in 2009 by singer Tresor Ziev and guitarist Steve Scarlet in Toronto, Can. and recorded their self titled E.P. with noted idie producer Sir Ian Blurton that same year. Accompanied by solid rhythm, drummer Phil Skot, and the lovely Ash Keenan on bass guitars.

Bunny has charmed and intrigued audiences many times over with their solid rock foundation, yet with enough substance to transcend gernes at times. Enigmatic front person Tresor, impress with natural talent and wide range, often compared to Debbie Harry or HEART's finest moments. Notorious rock guitarist, Scarlet is admired by peers and has electried fans with his impressive, unparalleled tones and catchy riffs.

With intelligent lyrical social commentary, disguised as horror and sci-fi, along with an imitable style and songs that alternate from haunting ballads in the spirit of STP, to heavy, sexy, pop rock and dance anthems in the tradition of Blondie, Voodoo Bunny casts a spell that hooks you!
The review ......

So, thanx to Voodoo Bunny, I have in my hands their E.P. My first impression is that this is a really good E.P. It's a rock album which sometimes is gettin' harder, sometimes darker and atmospheric and overall leaves you with a big smile after it's over!

"First" which opens this E.P. is probably the best track here. It's a darker tune with some really good and heavy, at parts, guitars. "Zed Is For Zombie" is a more up-tempo tune with nice arrangements and a solid and rhythmic guitar sound. A high energy tune about brain eating mindless creatures attacking a girl in a designer dress and her will to survive! "Pimp My Clones" is an OK track with some punk touches in it and a huge attitude! The last track, "Eight Tattoos", is a fast paced rocker with a really nice guitar work, it has a big riffing,  and Tresor's soaring vocals.
All in all this is a very interesting release from a promising band, Voodoo Bunny. This group, in my humble opinion, has the skills to take it to a higher level. I guess that we are going to wait and see. Well done.
