First of all, before I start my review about this eight track album from ETERNAL, I would like to thank the guys of the band for sending me this promo album and giving me the chance to listen a great piece of melodic hard rock/metal cd!
The Story : The members of Eternal began to play melodic hard rock in the early 80's. Some of them together and some of them in other bands. In the 90's, they did some recording projects together and, also, played together in some cover bands. After a lot of years in cover bands, they decided to play and make their own style of hard rock again. In the spring of 2007, they got together to start up a new band, and the name of it Eternal. In the late 2008, the new four-track single "START OF A NEW ERA" was released. And in the late 2009 four new songs were recorded.
Now you can listen to all eight on this side. All tracks are produced and recorded by Peter "Pain" Tägtgren and Eternal at studio Abyss.
So.........Kiss your girlfriend, get a nice cold one, and sit down. Turn up the volume and get crazy to these heavy tracks!
The Review : "Dalecarlian Metal" is an 8 track album and recorded by Peter "Pain" Tägtgren and Eternal in Studio Abyss between 2008 and 2009. The album starts with a really heavy riff !! It's the first track of "Dalecarlian Metal", "Start Of A New Era". This track grabs you from the very first listening. It's heavy, atmospheric with very good arragements and some powerfull vocal lines. What a great way to start this album! "Scream Higher" is another excellent example of how good this band is! Melodies and huge harmonies are perfectly balanced with some heavy riffing! Next song is "Sorrow And Pain", which is more aggressive. It has a nice guitar work and a good chorus line.
"Heroes" it's a solid tyne with a catchy as hell chorus. One of the best tracks from this album. "The Thing" is probably the weakest song here. It's not bad, but compared to the previous ones it's not so good. "Cross The Line" has a strong rhythm section but it lacks in the chorus. "Stay The Night" and "Face The Truth" are both excellent tunes with memorable choruses and inspired guitars!
All in all this is a solid effort. One thing is sure, these guys can rock! And they rock hard with memorable melodies, powerfull vocal lines and big in-your-face guitars!
HeavyParadise's Rating : 8/10
