Slash / Slash (2010)

It's only Rock N' Roll....and I like it! Pure Rock N' Roll is the first solo album from one of the best and most recognizable guitar players in the world. After the great Guns N Roses albums, the very good, but underrated Slash's Snakepit, and the good (for me) Velvet Revolver, Slash invites all his good old, and new, friends and delivers a pure hard rock album. His playing is for once again super and the songwritting is tight, but, unfortunately, only some things remind his glorious GN'R days. But hey that was then!
Back to the review, this album is delivering some really great hard rock tracks with attitude, very good performances from great artists and of course the amazing guitars from Slash. If only you check out the guests of Slash's album you will be red-hot! Ian Astbury (Cult), Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmister and Iggy Pop are some of the guests who are givin' a helping hand to their friend Slash.
All in all this is a very good release with some really 'big' names of the hard n' heavy community. Maybe this album will not be a classic in the near future (who knows?), but the sure thing is that this album is very enjoyable with some great moments. Buy it!

  1. Seeing this new comer, I'm not sure that VELVET REVOLVER'll live again ... Duff works with LOAD, Slash with his own project and Scott Weiland (the true voice for me !) has left VR for STP ...

I've heard this new release, for free of course : some songs are nice but in general it's an average stuff ... I rate it 5-6/10.
