The fact with 'Shining Line' project is that when I first read about it four months ago I had high expectations. And now I have to admit that I was not wrong! This is a very good release, a strong album of pure melodic rock sound. But let's take things from the start. 'Shining Line' was founded by drummer and songwriter Pierpaolo "Zorro11" Monti (founding member of italian hard 'n' heavy band Sovversivo, with whom he recorded three demos and opened to well-known names of the international heavy metal scene just like Virgin Steele, Omen, Labyrinth, Extrema and many others), that found his ideal partner in his longtime friend and bass player Amos Monti. Shining Line project shared immediately a real and unquestionable attitude in trying to build a real monster album. It was created to pay tribute to the great sonorities of the golden era.It, also, offers to all the loyal fans of the immortal adult oriented melodies a deep and real feeling to thank them for keeping the flame burning.
So, as you all understand I really liked this album, a lot. First of all, the guests of the album; in this one we are dealin' with some really 'big' names from the melodic hard rock/AOR scene of today such as Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge Of Forever, Eden's Curse, Moonstone Project), Erik Martensson (Eclipse, w.e.t.), Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), the mighty (and one of my favourite singers) Michael Bormann, Brunorock, Michael Voss, Robin Beck and the list goes on and on. a really impressing list of names. The production is overall very good and clear (it's important). The songwritting is tight and it seems that the two persons behind all of this have given heart and soul to create an album like this. Some really strong melodies and memorable choruses are makin' this album very enjoyable and a must have for every melodic fan out there. As for the tracks of this release, I think it's meanless to review track by track because I really can't find a weak moment here. Hmmm, maybe the "The Meaning Of My Lonenly Words" didn't worked for me here, but hey, that's only my opinion!
Bottom line is that, if you are into melodic rock/AOR or generally in Rock music, "Shining Line" is a true gem and a very good purchase. Well done!
* I would like to thanks once again Zorro for his kind words!
