Bret Michaels / Rock My World (2008)

Without any doubt Poison were one of the hottest names back in 80's early 90's. And their lead frontman, Bret Michaels, was one of the most recognisable metal frontmans out there. But with Bret Michaels was a love or hate case! For me Bret Michaels was and still is a very talented artist with a pretty good voice. Also everyone here can agree, that Poison was one of the most successful bands of glam and sleaze scene back then with a numerous hits on their back. But enough with Bret with Poison. As a solo artist, Bret Michaels has released a couple of records, from average to good enough, a soundtrack and some demos stuff. This one, originally released in 2008, is a good one. Is a kinda of compilation album with a couple of new tunes, some older stuff and a remix song. His voice is on top form, the band is tight and the production is overall good. The songs are all ok, but the problem (?) is that there are too many mid-tempos and ballads. I would prefer some more hard kickin' stuff in the vain of Poison. So, bottom line is that if you are a fan of Poison or Bret Michaels solo works this one is for ya! For the rest of you...listen before you buy :-)
