Yes, Groundbreaker is the brand new project of Frontiers Music that features Robert Sall (Work Of Art, W.E.T.) and the one and only Steve Overland of FM.
Groundbreaker features every little thing that you can ask for a melodic rock record. Breathtaking performances, beautiful melodies, harmonic lines to die for, solid songs and memorable hooks n' choruses.
"I’m the main composer for about half of the songs but Ale and Steve wrote a lot as well,” tells Robert Sall. “I had to write songs with Steve´s voice in mind and that was new and very inspiring to me. But for any fan of FM or Work of Art, I think they will be very familiar with the sound of this record!"
The opener tune of Groundbreaker's debut is entitled "Over My Shoulder". This is what I call melodic rock with style!!! This track mixes perfectly the British AOR with the edgy Swedish melodic rock and the result is this amazing opener. The groovy "Will It Make You Love Me" is solid while in "Only Time Will Tell" we have yet another killer song out of this debut. More in the FM classic style "Only Time Will Tell" is one of my personal favorites here. "Tonight", "The Sound Of A Broken Heart" and the amazing mid tempo tune of "First Time" are all filled with class. The up-tempo "The Days Of Our Life" is just killer!!!
Groundbreaker's debut is for damn sure a killer melodic rock stuff and it includes some excellent songs in it, soulful performances 'cause of Steve Overland's superb vocal lines, a tight musicianship and a classic late 80's AOR feeling in all over the album.
