Evidence One / Criticize The Truth (2002)

This is a very impressive debut release! The fact is that with the first listening of 'Criticize The Truth' this album grabs you and makes you want some more! Yes, it's that good! Robby Boebel of Frontline is the master mind behind Evidence One and he achieves to combine the melodic hard rock of his main band with some heavier elements. And the result is almost perfect. Carsten Schulz, from Domain, is the lead vocalist here and I have to admit that he is doin' an excellent work with his powerfull voice. Sometimes the way that he is singing reminds me of Michael Bormann. So, what we have here is a 10 track album full of great performances, fantastic guitar work, tight musicianship and some suberb tracks. 'Frozen in Time' is a fantastic mid-tempo track and one of my personal favourites of this album. 'Different Worlds-Different Times' is another one magnificent song with a catchy chorus. ' Like Never Before ' is a heavier tune while 'Heavy Heart Betrayed' is a killer one! All in all 'Criticize The Truth' is maybe one of the mest melodic hard rock/metal debut albums of the 00's. A must have for the fans of Frontline, Jaded Heart, Fair Warning and Gotthard. Highly recommended!!
