REVIEW : WILDNESS, Resurrection (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 14 October 2022)

Swedish melodic hard rockers WILDNESS is now on the Frontiers Music vechicle and they are ready to unleash their brand new opus entitled "Resurrection". The new effort is going to see the light of day this October.

"Resurrection" is the follow-up to their sophomore album “Ultimate Demise”and as in the previous, the same here, the band continues to deliver strong melodic rock/hard rock music that features ultra catchy hooks and choruses, edgy guitars, solid performances and and overall late 80's vibe that the sure thing is that will satisfy every serious fan of this genre.

Wildness was formed in 2014 by drummer and songwriter Erik Modin, guitar players Adam Holmström and Pontus Sköld, and lead singer Gabriel Lindmark. The band performed live and released a few demos during the first two years of their existence before releasing their first two albums on the German label AOR Heaven. Prior to the release of their self-titled debut album in late 2017, bassist Marcus Sjösund stepped in as a full-time member of the band during the recording of the album. The debut album immediately became a great international success among fans of the melodic hard rock scene. In 2019, singer Gabriel Lindmark left Wildness and Erik Forsberg (ex-Blazon Stone) became their new frontman in the spring of 2020.

The huge opener "Nightmare" sounds like the great apettizer of what's to follow next and with "Release The Beast" WILDNESS delivers a really heavy rocker that takes no prisoners with!! "Tragedy", "Best Of me" and "The One And Only" are all three excellent samples of pure and very up-beat melodic rock stuff!!! The straight-forward "Fading Sun" is probably one of the best tracks out of the new opus while in "Eternity Will Never Fall" we have another winner out of "Resurrection".

A great record from WILDNESS, no doubt 'bout that! A classic Scandi Melodic Hard Rock/AOR opus that will put them right away among the future-best in this scene. A strong recommendation for those who love their AOR a bit edgier and ballsier.
