Motley Crue / Theatre Of Pain (1985)

A much more different album than their previous two releases but an overall good one. A more straight forward hard-rock,with a hint of blues as well, sound in here with some really standout moments. Maybe 'Theatre Of Pain' considered to be the weakest album of Motley Crue but for me is another one good record from the bad boys of Rock N' Roll. Ok, the quartet of Nikki. Neil, Mars and Tommy were not the high skilled musicians of their gerne but for sure they were playing with passion. They had it all to become a huge name and they achieved that. Back to the review....
The album begins with the very underrated tune of 'City Boy Blues'. A hard rockin track with some bluesy touches and a very good chorus line. ' Smokin' in the Boys Room' was one of the biggest hits in the Crue discography. A cover song (Brownsville Station), but that didn't stoped the Crue to take it and make this a future classic! "Louder Than Hell' and 'Keep Your Eye on The Money' are both very good heavy rockers with catchy choruses. 'Home Sweet Home' = huge success. An excellent track with an inspired melody and another one classic Motley song. 'Tonight (We Need a Lover)' is one of my favourite Crue tunes ever. The rest of the tracks are decent ones but nothing really breathtakin'. Overall this is a good hard rock album.
