REVIEW : Bonfire, Fistful Of Fire (AFM Records, April 03, 2020 )

Back in 2017 the legendary German melodic hard rock/metal band of BONFIRE introduced us their new singer Alexx Stahl. "Byte The Bullet" was a solid record that stood proud besides the band's previous recordings. Nowadays and after a succesful tour (I had the privilege to see their fantastic show in Greece...) BONFIRE strikes back with a new opus. "Fistful Of Fire" is going to be released through AFM Records in April.

The opening tune of "Gotta Get Away" is exactly what I've expected from Bonfire; a fistful, in-your-face and powerful melodic hard rock/metal gem. For sure a great appetizer of what's to follow. "The Devil Made Me Do It" is a fast-paced rocker that features Mr. Stahl's high pitched vocals on front row, sharp guitars and a catchy chorus line.

In "Ride The Blade" and "Rock N Roll Survivors" the band brings back its glory earlier sound (of the first three albums..) in full force. Euro melodic hard rock/metal at its best. Both track are killers! The classic and emotional ballad of "When An Old Man Cries" is one of the best moments out of the new album while in "Warrior" we are dealing with a song that will be a future classic and for sure a live favorite!! "Breaking Out", "Fistful Of Fire" and the metalized "Gloryland" are all three excellent samples of the new Bonfire opus.

Bottom line is that BONFIRE is back with a fantastic record all the way! "Fistful Of Fire" is an opus that features the band's earlier classic sound in all its glory, killer songs, sharp and edgy guitars and shows off that Alexx Stahl is an amazing shouter and the right guy for BONFIRE!
