REVIEW : WOLFPAKK -- Wolves Reign (2017)

The melodic metal/hard rock act that was led by Mark Sweeney (ex-Crystal Ball) and Michael Voss (Mad Max, Michael Schenker) strikes back with album number four! Yes Wolfpakk are back with their brand new "Wolves Reign" and, in my opinion, this is their best album to-date! Once again these two extremely gifted musicians gathered an impressive list of guest musicians and deliver an amazing record that will impress you!

So, sit back, hold your breath and just check out the list of the musicians that contribute with their talent to "Wolves Reign". Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids), Michael Vescera (ex- Yngwie Malmsteen), Tony Harnell (TNT), Claus Lessmann (Phantom V), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), George Lynch (ex-Dokken), Rudi Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne), Marc Lynn (Gotthard) and Alex Holzwarth (Avantasia) are some (!!!!!!) of the names that help Sweeney and Voss to their new attempt!

The song that kicks-off the new opus is called "Falling". This is one of the best tunes that I've listened to this year. A classic and early Bonfire vibe along with a huge chorus line makes this track one of this year's highlight! "Inside The Animal" is yet another great tune out of the new record. Melodic metal at its best with a cool groove in it and there you have another extremely interesting moment. "Commandments" opens with a superb soloing and transforms into an epic metal hymn. In "Tomorrowland" the duo of Sweeney and Voss delivers a very sentimental and beautiful ballad that includes great arrangements, heartfull vocals and passion! The album closes with a killer song; "I'm Onto You" is simply a breathtaking and more straight forward hard rocker that takes no prisoners! Excellent stuff! I also love the vocal performances of Biff Byford, and the total 80's metal vibe, on the song "Blood Brothers".

If you are a fan of the band's previous works or if you love Euro melodic metal/hard rock, then Wolfpakk with "Wolves Reign" will make your day! Extremely interesting and enjoyable from start to finish!
