HARDLINE / DANGER ZONE (2012)

When the Gioeli brothers, from hard rock band Brunette, met the great guitar player Neal Schon from Journey Hardline were born! In 1992, the "Double Eclipse" album was released and till now it is considered as one of the best releases in melodic hard rock. The other two members of the band were Dean Castronovo on drums and Todd Jensen on bass. The song "Hot Cherie" was a major hit and put the band in the premier league of the melodic hard rock scene.



The history, after the "Double Eclipse" is well-known to the hard rock fans. Grunge came to 'rock the boat' and as so many bands back then Hardline split! Gioeli become Axel Rudi Pell's lead shouter, Neal Schon went back to Journey and, in 2002, Gioeli brothers tried to re-unite Hardline and release the rather average "II". Lack of inspiration? I don't know but the album didn't fulfiled the expectations of the die-hards. A live album followed and, in 2009, Gioeli and Ramos released the band's third official release "Leaving The End Open". A good and melodic album that, once again, mixed-up the feelings of the die-hards.

So, nowadays, the band with a brand new line-up is back to offer a great piece of melodic hard rock stuff with memorable choruses, catchy songs and, most of all, Gioeli's amazing performances. "Fever Dreams" is the album's first big moment! A huge Hardline track with an 80's feeling and a catchy chorus line. "10000 Reasons" could be easily appeared in "Double Eclipse". Another great example of the new Hardline. "Never Too Late For Love" is a great mid-tempo track with superb vocal performances by Gioeli. "Look At You Now" and "Show Me Your Love" are both great tunes!!

All in all, this is a simply brilliant release. It has everything that a melodic rock/hard rock fan could ask for. Great melodies, tight arrangements, superb performances and a solid production! One of the best 2012's releases that will end up high in Heavy Paradise's Top 20 list! Great work!!!
