REVIEW : WILD SOULS / Game Of Love (2016)

Wild Souls is a Greek Hard Rock band, from my hometown Kavala, that its love for the late 80's scene reflects in its music. The band's first single, "Broken Heart", was released back in 2011 and that was the first sample of Wild Souls' sound. Towards, Wild Souls toured across the country and later they entered the studio to record the debut album.

"On The Road" was the title of an excellent debut album full of solid tracks, a tight musicianship and strong performances. Doug Aldrich (ex-Whitesnake, Burning Rain, Lion e.t.c) made a guest appearance on the song "On The Road",  Nowadays, and after a new record deal with LionsPrideMusic the band is back, full-force, with the brand new "Game Of Love".

Wild Souls consists of George Nikolaou  (Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals), Kostis Tsiligiris (Guitars), Nikos Tsiligoudis (Drums), and Tasos Karapapazoglou (Bass, Backing Vocals).

"Game Of Love" kicks-off with the self-title tune that opens things here with such an impressive way; a fast-paced and old-fashioned rocker with a strong chorus line and, most of all, with Tsiligiris (check out the solo!!!) superb guitar lines. Next, "Dirty Mind" is the first highlight from the new album!! Bigger, heavier and with more groove, "Dirty Mind" is pure Hard Rock heaven!!! "Shame On You" and "Riding" are good while in "Pretty Babe" the band delivers a superb bluesy rock gem! This one includes some excellent musicianship, strong arrangements and powerful performances. The guitars of K. Tsiligiris are once again the cherry on top. This guy puts heart and soul in every riff, every solo and, at the end, achieves to take Wild Souls's sound to another level.

Wild Souls are ready to rock you in very 80's way with "Rock Your World" while with "Moonlight" you're gonna stick with its really amazing chorus and its genius harmony. "One More Night" is the first power ballad of the new album and it's an overall good one, "Game Of Love" closes with yet another highlight; "I Need Your Love" is a cool and more AOR-ish tune that will be adored by and fan of this scene.

Closing my review, I have to say that I'm really proud of these guys that achieve to release an album like "Game Of Love". They put heart and soul and that reflects to their music....to their songs, I'm damn sure that will be hear more and bigger things from them in the near future. Well done!!!! And one last thing.....the cover artwork ROCKS BIG TIME!!!!
