Seven Deadly / 'The Allegiance ep' (2012)

Seven Deadly is a new five piece metal act that combines the early 90's thrash metal sound filled with some more melodic metal elements and features members from Panic Cell, the band that shared stages with Metallica and Slayer among others.

"The Allegiance" (EP) is the band's first official release and has already received some excellent reviews from all over the net. Terrorizer magazine stated about the band's debut opus : "..accessible and heavy, traditional and yet experimental. The wave of melodic thrash metal of Seven Deadly is about to break....".  Yes, the description of Terrorizer Magazine says it all; this album has a big and 'fat' thrashy sound with a 'clever' groove and the necessary melodies!! And even though I'm not a fan of this scene, I have to say that I enjoyed every single track of it!! "From This Darkness" starts with a heavy in-your-face riff, a great hook-line, solid arrangements and powerful performances (aggressive in some parts). For me, this track is the perfect mix of 'old thrash meets modern melodic metal'!!! Cool stuff!! "Blood On Your Hands" is evil, heavy as it gets, aggressive and it's the band's first official video single. "Allegiance" moves to the same 'speedy' thrashier paths and the same goes for "End Of All". The EP contains an acoustic version "Allegiance" which I have to admit is extremely interesting!!!

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this one; as I said, and it's well-known to the followers of Heavy Paradise, I'm not a big fan of this scene, although the three of the five tracks of "The Allegiance" impressed me a lot!! The fact is that this band has plenty of talent and some great ideas and I'm waitin' for their future step. For the fans of this particular scene, this is a MUST have.
Heavy Paradise's Rating : 7/10

Track List : From This Darkness, Blood On Your Hands, Allegiance, End Of All, Allegiance (acoustic version)
