Mikael Erlandsson from Gothenburg is one of the best singers/ songwriters in Sweden today. Beside LAD he has since 2006 been the front man in the Swedish super group Secret Service on live tours all over the world.

He has recorded four successful solo albums and his Japanese record company together with XTC Productions came up with the idea of putting him together with the fantastic guitar player Andy Malecek from the successful German hard rock band Fair Warning for an album project.

Mikael and Andy were both hooked by the idea and a plan for the album began to grow. Ian Haugland, Mic Michaeli and John Leven of Europe-fame were asked if they were interested to join, which they did and the band LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM was born!

Powerhouse singer Mahalia Barnes, one of the most impressive female vocalists to come out of Australia, and her band The Soul Mates have teamed up with American blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa to release an album of Betty Davis covers called Ooh Yea! – The Betty Davis Songbook. Scheduled for release on 20 Feb 2015, it explores tracks from Davis’ sexy, raw funk records of the early ‘70s.

Betty Davis’s unique story is still fairly unknown. She married Miles Davis in the late ‘60s, influencing him with psychedelic rock, and introducing him to Jimi Hendrix. Later, she released three genre-busting albums, 1973’s self-titled debut, 1974’s They Say I’m Different and 1975’s Nasty Gal that have since influenced artists like Outkast, Prince, Erykah Badu, Rick James, The Roots, Ice Cube, Talib Kweli and Ludacris.

Mahalia Barnes, eldest daughter of Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes and recent contestant on The Voice, has been around music her whole life but has always been most heavily influenced by soul, blues and rock n’ roll.

SYMPHONY X 'Almost Done' Recording New Album

In true "no update until there's something to say" form, New Jersey's progressive metal masters SYMPHONY X have been quiet as of late. Don't let the silence fool you, though; they've been busy. So busy, in fact, that the new CD is almost done!

Recording of the drums, lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and bass — a.k.a. the bulk of the as-yet-untitled new album — is complete. In the next few weeks, the keyboards, guitar solos, background vocals, and some miscellaneous odds and ends will be done, with the goal to have everything recorded by the end of the month.

Comments SYMPHONY X guitarist and songwriter Michael Romeo: "The plan was to have everything tracked by Christmas, and we're pretty much on schedule. Things are moving at a good pace, and the songs are starting to come to life. More on that down the road a bit."

Gov't Mule announce 20th Anniversary releases for 2015

Rock torchbearers Gov’t Mule are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a series of dynamic live archival releases that highlight the group’s versatility and epic, fearless live performances. No two Gov’t Mule shows are alike, as the band draws on the more than 300 songs in their repertoire (and often a host of special guests) to create a unique experience each and every time. Their steadily expanding fan base knows that the Mule always has something special waiting for them. Expect the unexpected.

The deep chemistry and steely confidence shared by the quartet allow them to tackle any form of music and stamp it their own while remaining true to the spirit and intent of the original. This can of course be heard any time guitarist-singer Warren Haynes, drummer Matt Abts, bassist Jorgen Carlsson and multi-instrumentalist Danny Louis take the stage, but a series of new live archival releases really drives the point home. 

The first of the archival releases, Dark Side of the Mule, will be released on January 12, 2015, and features 90 minutes of Pink Floyd covers recorded during the band’s Halloween 2008 show at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, MA. There will be three configurations including a standard version (1-CD), a deluxe version (3-CD/1-DVD package featuring the entire 3-hour performance) and as a double vinyl version. All configurations feature audio newly-mixed and mastered.

Fresh from the critically acclaimed debut album “All Hell Breaks Loose” in 2013, Black Star Riders are set to release a new studio album on Nuclear Blast Entertainment, “The Killer Instinct”, in February 2015. The album will be followed by a full UK and Eire co-headline tour with Europe.

The band toured 2013’s “All Hell Breaks Loose” for a year – playing across the globe. October 2014 saw them gather in Nashville, TN and enter the studio with heralded producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, The Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Mastodon) to start recording the follow up. The result is The Killer Instinct. “The Killer Instinct” will be released in different formats: CD, Limited 2 CDs Digibook, Limited Gatefold Black Vinyl and Limited Gatefold Clear Vinyl (available for mail orders only) and the band are pleased to release the album artwork.

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott has revealed the band have restarted studio work on their tenth album.

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott has revealed the band have restarted studio work on their tenth album.

He recently said the follow-up to 2008’s Songs From The Sparkle Lounge would be “a lot more basic and raw” than previous outings. Work had been slowed by the band’s live commitments and guitarist Vivian Campbell’s stem-cell treatment for cancer.

Now Elliott tells the Belfast Telegraph:  "We're back on it now and hoping to get it finished by early spring. I was in the studio last night, actually, and I'll be in again tonight – if I don't wear my voice out.”

TEN to appear in Athens, Greece next spring!

We are very happy to announce that the first of the two live appearances that will bring TEN to Greek shores in May next year will take place on the 8th of May 2015 at Bat City in Athens, Greece.
It is none other than the acoustic live performance of the band’s leader and frontman Gary Hughes, who will be performing songs spanning his 20 year career, namely his solo albums, his “Once And Future King” albums, songs he wrote for Bob Catley (Magnum) and some TEN tracks that haven’t been performed live in years.
