Voodoo Angel is a band that combines perfectly the elements of the late 80's, early 90's, Sleaze Hard Rock scene with a more up-to-dated sound that makes the final result extremely attractive. Somewhere between 'modern' Winger, early Hittman and Freak Kitchen Voodoo Angel is delivering some tasteful, extravagant and interesting hard rock music that will be appreciated by any fan of the harder hitting scene.
The opening tune of "We're Still Alive" is just killer; edgy, 'dark' and with a breathtaking guitar work that will blow up your mind! "When Life Passes You By" reminded me a bit of WINGER's latest releases while in "It's Gonna Hurt" we are dealing with an 'angry', bad-ass and punchier tune which is among my personal favorites here! The groovier and sleezy "Daddy's Back To The Madam" is yet another killer track and another song that reminds a 'modern day' Winger. Other highlights here are the 'moodier' and melancholic "More", teh pop-rock gem of "Sin City" and the excellent and more hard-punk ala Billy Idol "So Pretty"!!!
Voodoo Angel with this release, "Midnight Rouge", through Lions Pride Music achieved to release one of the biggest highlights of 2024 so far!! Excellent music, excellent songs and a tight musicianship by a bunch of musicians that mixes perfectly a variety of rock genres perfectly!!!
