“It was time to go back to the roots, as they say, and finally make that true '80s AOR album that I’ve dreamt of creating since I started PALACE. It's the missing link between 1985 and 2024,” said Michael. With PALACE, Michael released four great albums. Michael is also known as a guitarist/songwritter for bands/acts such as FIRST SIGNAL, CRY OF DAWN, TOBY HITCHCOCK and KRYPTONITE. Michael has produced albums for KENT HILLI and NEVENA and has done work across diverse genres while taking on various roles such as a songwriter, musician, producer, and engineer.
Nowadays, PALACE is releasing its brand new opus entitled "Reckless Heart" through Frontiers Music. The new record will see the light of day this July (12th).
"Reckless Heart", the opener, is really huge!! It's up-beat, melodic, very 80's and with a chorus line that will make bands such as Strangeways, The Storm and ALIAS very proud! The "Widow's Web" is edgier but it's again a great sample of pure melodic rock paradise while in "Back In Your Arms" is pure AOR candy for your ears. The melodies, the harmonies, the hooks, the guitars and the vocals are all flawed to perfection! The AOR gems of "Girl Is An Angel" and "Back To '85" are larger than life and the sure thing is that both tracks are some kinda of time capsule that will travel you through time! Excellent!!! The Survivor-esque "For The Love", "Move Me" and the 'classy' key-driven "Stronger ByThe Day" are all three great!
Bottom line is that PALACE with "Reckless Heart" made an album that is pure gold for all the fans of the golden era of AOR!! Yes, I'm not over-reacting here; is an album full of big choruses, clever hooks, melodies to die for and this sweet mid 80's AOR vibe that you will feel in love with. "Reckless Heart" is among my favourite records from this year and it will be this summer's soundtrack!!
