King Kobra / Ready to Strike (1985)

King Kobra was a hair metal group founded by drummer Carmine Appice after his tenure with Ozzy Osbourne in 1984. The band also consisted of the very talented, but uknown back then, vocalist Mark Free, guitarist David Michael-Philips, guitarist Mick Sweda, and bassist Johnny Rod(later W.A.S.P.). Their debut album "Ready To Strike" was released in 1985, and is still one of the best debut albums of that era.
The sound of King Kobra was an ass-kickin' heavy rock combination plus some glam elements, regarding their image. Some huge chorus lines, great melodies, crunchy hard edged guitar sound and Free's powerfull and strong vocal performances. So for the fans of that era, this album is a must have. Buy it!!
