REVIEW : CRYONIC TEMPLE -- Into The Glorious Battle (2017)

Cryonic Temple is a heavy-Power Metal band that was formed back in 1996, in Sweden, and together with bands such as SABATON and ORPHAN GYPSY is considered as the originator of the new power metal wave of the the early 2000's.

Since its creation, Cryonic Temple has already released four albums and played in many big festivals (Sweden Rock Festival, HeadBangers Open Air, Sabaton Open Air, Peace And Love, Gothenburg Metal Festival, Motala Metal Festival, 2000 Decibel and many more) and was the opening act for bands such as Uriah Heep, Saxon, Tad Morose, Civil War, Lion's Share and Paul Di’Anno.

So, nowadays, Cryonic Temple is ready to make the big step for its career with its brand new opus which is entitled "Into The Glorious Battle". This is the band's first concept- album, an exciting story taking place in the future, that features all the band's well-known elements along with some new 'pinches' and influences that makes the final result extremely enjoyable from start to finish.

The sound here is basically old-fashioned power metal, with a strong emphasis on melodies, mixed with a modern and more updated Heavy Rock/ Power Metal approach. Highlights? Hmmm, difficult to answer to this question 'cause I find myself enjoying every single minute of "Into The Glorious Battle". Yes, it's one of these albums that flows nicely from start to finish without bad moments or something average. There is a clever variety between the heavier songs and the slower ones (which are all superb) and in my opinion is that Cryonic Temple with this new record will certainly make some noise and will gain more and more new fans from the Heavy Melodic Power scene in general. Highly recommended!!!

Rating : 8/10
