REVIEW : LANDFALL, The Turning Point (Frontiers Music s.r.l., Release: 4 September 2020)

It seems that 2020 is gettin' better and better (musically speaking always...). This time we have yet another extremely interesting opus in our hands. LANDFALL is a band that hails from Brazil and with its brand new record entitled "The Turning Point" (Frontiers Music) it is delivering a stunning piece of classic melodic hard rock/edgy AOR release that the sure thing is that will put a wide smile upon the face of every fan of this scene.

Landfall features former AURAS singer Gui Oliver, Felipe Soouzza on drums, Marcelo Gelbcke on guitars and Thiago Forbeci on bass guitars.  The sound of Landfall is pure and classic melodic hard rock/AOR with an updated sound and features beautiful harmonies, memorable chorus lines and crunchy guitars. The addittion of some 'heavier' parts makes the final result very attractive. The voice, of course, of Oliver is the cherry on top. This guy remindes a bit of Steve Perry and Hugo

After the fantastic and powerful opener tune of "Rush Hour" (killer tune...), it comes the commercial and very melodic track of "Jane's Carousel", "Across The Street", the beautiful bluesy ballad of "Don't Come Easy" and my personal favourite tune of "Rounabout" that features a catchy as hell hook an chorus line!! Check out, also, the U.S. flavoured "Road Of Dreams" and "Sound Of The City" and the sure thing is that you'll gonna discover a great band.

There's nothing more to add here except that LANDFALL's brand new opus entitled "The Turning Point" is a big must have for every melodic rock fan out there. It's beautiful, melodic and it includes a damn positive vibe in it!!!
