REVIEW (CLASSIC ALBUMS) : COLD SWEAT --- Break Out (20th Century Music RELEASE DATE : 26 October 2018)

Cold Sweat is yet another case of "they could become huge back then'. They got the big hair, they got the image, they got the right attitude and, for damn sure they got the songs to rocket them straight to the top.

To be honest here, Cold Sweat's "Break Out" album was and still is one of my personal favorite albums. I loved it back then and I still love it till now. Somewhere between Dokken, Lynch Mob, Ratt, Motley Crue and Skid Row, the band was ready for big things but 'cause of the music changes it didn't have the luck to go further. Cold Sweat was fronted by the extremely talented guitarist Marc FerrariRory Cathey on vocals, Erik Gamans on guitars, Chris McLernon (Saigon Kick) on bass and Anthony White (Xcursion) on drums.

The album kicks-off with the Hair Metal anthem of "Four On The Floor". This is just pure and ass-kickin' hair metal stuff that takes no prisoners with. The guitars are heavy enough for headbanging, the hook n' chorus line are candy in my ears and there are tons of attitude in it. Perfect, just perfect! "Cryin' Shame", "Lovestruck" and "Killing Floor" are songs that you'll be hooked on. All three include a big groove, powerful and in-your-face performances and, of course, some inspired licks by Marc Ferrari. In "Take This Heart Of Mine" we are dealing with one of the best tunes out of a gold era. Personally, I include this song between "You Give Love A Bad Name"(Bon Jovi), "Forever Young" (Tyketto) and "Youth Gone Wild"(Skid Row) among others. Atrue gem!! Two more killers out of "Break Out" are without any doubt "Let's Make Love Tonight" and "I Just Want To Make Love To You". Both are killers, period! Remarkable is also the power ballad of "Waiting In Vain" which reminds a bit of Motley's "Home Sweet Home" big hit.

Cold Sweat's "Break Out" is a true gem of an album! One of the best records of the golden era of Hair Metal music. Thanks to 20th Century Music this album is out again for your ear pleasure only! If you haven't got yet this masterpiece, go out and grab it, steal it, buy it at any cost!
