AlogiA was formed in 2000 by Serbian brothers Miroslav and Srđan Branković both on guitars. The rest of the band consists of Nikola Mijić on vocals, Vladimir Đedović on keyboards, Vladimir Ranisavljević on bass guitar and Srđan Golubica drums. The band has opened for bands such as Whitesnake, Apocalyptica, Savatage, and Paul Di Anno, and has played in many big Shows as headliners as well.
Alogia in its career has released many studio albums (in their native tongue and in English), live records and a live DVD. They were, also, able to do collaborations and b-side projects, like Expedition Delta, Shadow Gallery, Eden’s Curse, and Despot.
Alogia, for those who aren't familiar with the band's sound, plays a great mix of progressive hard rock/metal with emphasis in great melodies, amazing guitar lines, powerful performances and an excellent musicianship!!! They sing in their native language but, believe me, this is no problem at all (they've translated the debut and the are working on this as well) 'cause their music will nail you down!! Highlights here? Hmmm....It's hard to pick up one here 'cause every single track has something different to give to the listener. But, if I had to choose one, that would be the breathtaking "Calija" with its huge chorus line that grabbed me and left me whistle it for days!!
This is an incredible progressive record all the way that impressed me at the first spin! For all the fans of the classic power progressive hard rock/metal sound, this is 'safe' purchase and, of course, highly recommended for each and every rock fan out there!
