Sora / Desire and Truth (2010)

When I first saw this album and read a few words about it, I said " ok..another one virtouozo with all the same things which have been played over and over again.." . But the truth is that I was wrong! This a very good release with some really good guitar work from Erol Sora. A good 'feeling' in his playing and nice solos and riffs from this guy. His sound is somewhere between  Ritchie Blackmore, John Sykes και Michael Schenker with some modern hard rock influences without being boring and trivial.
Erol Sora's vocals are not something special, but they are overall good. The other members of the band are Brendan Mooney on bass,  Gregory MacDonald on hammond organ and Jay Solyom on drums. Highlights here are “What’s It Gotta Do With You And Me” with a catchy as hell chorus, my personal favourite “Taste Of Rock & Roll” and the aggressive “The Storm Has Just Begun”.

Maybe there are a couple of fillers here but who cares? The final result is overall very good.

All in all this is a very interesting release, again from Avenue Of Allies records, and a must have album for the fans of guitar driven hard rock. Check it out!!
