Hardreams / The Road Goes On (2008)

HARDREAMS is a melodic hard rock - AOR band which was born in the middle of 2000 in Barcelona (Spain). They released "Calling Everywhere"" on Vinny Records in 2002 and appeared in the prestigious NEMELROCK FESTIVAL in Madrid & RIPOLLET ROCK in Barcelona. They shared the stage with artists such as BOB CATLEY (Magnum), DANNY VAUGHN (Tyketto), FIREHOUSE and JIM PETERIK (Survivor, Mecca, Pride of Lions).

In 2008, they matched up with Perris Records for the release of their second effort with the title "The Road Goes On". I have to say that I haven't heard anything from this band, till' now! From the very first listening of "The Road Goes On", this album grabbed me and sent me to heaven! I had a long time to listen an album with such of good melodies. This album has it all. Great harmonies, inspired melodies, songs that stick in your mind for days but most of all it has an amazing guitar work! This guy has a feeling when he is playin' the six-string!

The song that opens the album is the "Apologies". It is an up-tempo track with a memorable chorus. A really impressive start which shows what is coming! "Bad Times Are Gone" is another fine example of what this band is capable of doing regarding the writting of a very good melodic song! "Rebel Heart" is a more commercial tune with a killer chorus line! 'Little Sinner Queen" is probably my favourite track from this album! Superb guitar work, especially the solo is fantastic, and a melody that makes you wanna whistle it all the time. "My Last Desire" is a track that could easily fit in any Jaded Heart's earlier releases (Bormann era). It's a moodier one but with a killer melody and Manu Esteve's emotional vocals. An excellent song!
With "We're One" it's time for the first ballad. A very good song with nice arragements and pretty good melody.
"Too Late" is probably the heaviest song here. A guitar driven track balanced with some more aggressive vocals and a good enough chorus line. A bit average in regards with their previous killer tunes. "Someday Somewhere" and "I'll Say Bye Tonight" are both very good melodic rock tracks.
"Two Shots" is an excellent track! A great feel-good vibe in it and a song that makes me push the repeat button over and over again!! "The Road Goes On" is the last song from Hardream's second release. It's a more AOR-ish tune with, again, a cool melody.

All in all this is a great album. It has everything that a melodic hard rock fan can ask. I'm really impressed of these guys! The only thing that I have to say is I can't wait for their next album. Well done!
