Masquerade / Masquerade (1992)

Probably one of the best melodic hard/heavy rock albums ever! This is the debut from the Swedish act Masquerade and it's a damn strong release! A band that might have been huge back then but, in my opinion, the rest of their albums were average or even bad ones!

"Masquerade" was originally released in 1992. The sound of this superb release reminds of TNT's early glory days, some Def Leppard, at least in their choir backround vocals and, overall, is the perfect example of how a great Scandi melodic heavy rock album should sound! This album has it all!! Great melodies, big arrangements, tight songwritting, catchy tunes, a very good singer but, most of all, a fantastic guitar player! This guy, when it comes to soloing or riffing, is simply amazing. "Masquerade" is one of the so called must-have albums that should be owned by every hard n' heavy fan out there. Also this one was a bit difficult to find, for years, but, 2 or 3 years ago it's been re-released with a bounch of bonus tracks.

It's hard for me to pick up a song as my personal favourite from this one 'cause every single track is candy to my ears! No fillers here just pure melodic hard rock bliss! So, for the ones that haven't got the chance to listen this gem, my advice is to buy Masquerade's debut album. Highly recommended!
