Def Leppard To Turn Their Backs On Releasing Albums?

After selling more than 65 million albums worldwide, British hard rockers Def Leppard seem ready to ditch the LP in its more conventional format, with guitarist Vivian Campbell professing that he doesn't "see the point in putting out full-lengths" any more, reports Simon Jay Catling of AOL Music.

Talking to Artistdirect.com , the 48 year-old guitarist admitted that the group had been working on new material to follow up 2008's 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' -- their 10th studio album -- but said "I'm not sure that it will be full-length ... people are not interested in full-lengths. I'd rather put out less music with more quality."

Currently the band promoting their new live album 'Mirrorball,' Campbell went on to say: "We live in such pleasure times now; there are so many things vying for people's attention, so much media and instant communication with the web and phones. People don't have time to listen to a full album."

  1. A pitiful excuse to explain one thing : "we don't want to make a full-length album". I'm sorry but I've always time to listen to music ! :( I prefer honesty to lies !
