REVIEW : SPEKTRA, Hypnotized (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 12 July 2024)

SPEKTRA, the band that with its debut "Overload", back in 2021, made a huge impact to the melodic rock/hard rock fans around the world it's finally back with album number two entitled "Hypnotized". The new opus is set for a release this July (12th) through the Italian music label Frontiers Music

Within SPEKTRA, each member contributes a unique element to the band's harmonious tapestry. BJ, the lead vocalist with his powerful and soaring vocals, Leo Mancini, a skilled guitarist with over 25 years of experience, Henrique Canalle in bass guitars and last but not least Edu Cominato, a passionate drummer with a rich history of collaborations, provides the rhythmic heartbeat that propels SPEKTRA's immersive musical experience.

The new record kicks-off with the edgy and more metallic tune of "Freefall"!!! Heavy guitars, some really amazing harmonic lines and a chorus line to die for! Excellent start and for sure a great apettizer of what's to follow next. The groovier "Taste Of Heaven" is once again a great tune while with "My Voice For You" we have a more commercial and melodic track with again a huge chorus line to sing-a-long. The edgier "Against The Wind", the self-titled "Hypnotized", the AOR-ish hymn of "Tonight" and the beautiful acoustic semi-ballad with its amazing guitar solo "Differnt Me Outside" are all superb samples of SPEKTRA's brand new work!!

A really amazing, solid, extremely melodic and well-played record from SPEKTRA that comes to proove why this band is considered a big hope in this genre!! Mixing perfect the 'old' scene of melodic hard rock with the 'new' sound of melodic rock, SPEKTRA with "Hypnotized" is releasing a hell of a record that will end up high in this year's top lists with its quality and its amazing sound!
