Def Leppard / Euphoria (1999)

After the average release of "S.L.A.N.G.", Def Leppard returns to the more safe paths of melodic hard rock. "Euphoria" is a record back to their roots with some new modern elements.

The record starts with the up-tempo feel good rocker " Demolition Man ", what a great way to start the album!! "Promises " is the big hit of the album, a mid-tempo tune that has it all to be the smash hit of "Euphoria". "Back In Your Face" is furious, and again with a big chorus. "Goodbye " is a typical Def Leppard ballad while the next one "All Night", is the first filler of the album. "Paper Sun " will just blow you away!!! Maybe one of the best songs that this band have ever recorded. "It's Only Love " and "21st Century Sha La La La Girl " are a couple of average tunes, nothin' really special. "To Be Alive " is another ok track while"Disintegrate " is an instrumental track. "Guilty " is my personal favorite track. A tune that could be easily be as a b-side track of their "Adrenalize" album, a fantastic one!! "Day After Day ' has an 80's classic Lep sound and "Kings Of Oblivion " closes the album with a great way, a very good hard rockin' tune.
All in all this is an extremely interesting release from Def Leppard, a kinda of old-fashioned album with a modern twist in it. Great!
