REVIEW : HUSH --- IF YOU SMILE (Recycled) (Lions Pride Music 2018)

HUSH is a Norwegian melodic rock/AOR band that since its creation released four full length albums. It all started with the already classic "If You Smile" in 1998 and followed the great (and a personal favorite) "II" in 2001, "Mirage" (2006) and "Department Of Faith" in 2017.

Nowadays, the band strikes back with "If You Smile Recycled" trough Lions Pride Music. This record is the 20th edition of the band's classic debut opus. The drums, bass, guitars and some vocals have been recorded again in the autumn of 2018.

The opening tune of "Talk To Me" is pure melodic rock heaven. It includes a huge chorus line to sing-a-long for days, great arrangements and a positive vibe that makes this track one of the album's highlights. Next, "Babe" is more AOR-ish while in "Believe" we have another yet superb track in the vain of Giant's classic opus. Another gem out of this great release. The groovier "Piece Of The Action" and the melodic rock perfection of the ballad "This Side Of Love" are both delicious AOR stuff at its best. "Big Time" (which is solid) reminds a bit of Damn Yankees while in "She Will Be The One" (Acoustic Bonus Track) the band delivers a nice tune.

All in all, this is a great release from HUSH. For those who own the first edition of "If You Smile", I think that you have to grab this one too with eyes closed. For those who haven't heard about HUSH, my advice is to check this band the sooner the better. Classy melodic rock/AOR stuff!!
