Both musicians are very experienced and have been involved in many acts. Sami has been a singer on a variety of projects, including the Tony Mills Band (SHY, TNT). Ilkka Wirtanen is best known for his work as a producer with international acts like modern melodic heavy rockers Reckless Love, for whom he has produced four albums and co-written many of their more well-known songs, including "Hot" and "Night On Fire". He has sat in the producer’s chair for several other rock bands (Baton Rogue Morgue, Hellcity Punks) and has worked as a mixer for international acts (S.E.X. Department).
This self-titled debut is extremely enjoyable from start to finish!! The Nights play melodic hard rock/AOR with a strong emphasis on big and catchy melodies, passionate performances and some really superb guitar lines. All the songs here are build-up to make you sing-a-long and overall this debut is pure candy for every melodic rock fan out there.
"Nothing But Love" is the first highlight of the new opus with its stormy chorus line while with "Juliette" we are dealing with one of this year's AOR anthems!! Sweet and edgy this track is just brilliant and ultra-catchy! "In A Blink Of An Eye" is very 80's and that means, big keys, crunchy guitars (it includes a superb guitar solo) and a bombastic hook to die for! Excellent!! "Take Me To Heaven" will take you to heaven, no doubt 'bout that! It's a fast-tempo and feel-good rocker with a monstrous chorus line! I like a lot the power ballad of "You Belong To Me Tonight" and the heavier "I Wanna Be Your Superhero".
If you love the big melodies, strong guitar lines, ultra catchy hooks and choruses and some passionate and heartful vocals, then look no further; The Nights bring all the above with style and the sure thing is that will make some noise!
