Salute / Heart Of The Machine (2010)

This is Salute's second studio album. After the first effort, which was a very good melodic hard rock album, the duo of Mikael Erladsson (vocals) and Martin Kronlund (guitars) are back with the pretty good "Heart Of The Machine.

Mikael Erladsson is well known to melodic fans for his involvment in the melodic hard rock act Last Autumn's Dream. Martin Kronlund has been involved in several bands as a guitarist, producer and also as a songwritter. The rest members of the band are Imre Daun on drums, Henrik Tomsen on bass guitars and David Reece (Bangalore Choir) on backing vocals. David Reece has been involved in the songwritting as well!

So, with the contribution of these names, in "Heart Of The Machine" you are going to hear powerfull melodies, crunching guitar sound, big harmonies and some really catchy tunes! "Higher" opens the album with an inspired guitar riff and a solid bass line. A great way to start this album. "A Falling Star' is another fine example of European melodic hard rock. Big chorus line, plenty of melodies and great guitar work from Mr. Kronlund! "I Will Be There" is the first ballad of the album and the highlight here is, once again, the guitar work. One of my favorite tunes of "Heart Of The Machine"! This tracks appears also in Dogface's 'Unleashed' album with the mighty Mats Leven on lead vocals. Other highlights here are 'Tearing Me Down" and "Heart Of The Machine".

All in all this is another 2010's high quality melodic hard rock album that will please every fan of this gerne!
