Metallica / Metallica (1991)

This album was Metallica's ticket to the elit bands of the heavy metal scene. Metallica was a band that influenced so many groups of that era. They had a really heavy sound, their image was simple, they had a very talented frontman and in a few words they had it all to become a big name and they achieved that. The so called 'Black Album' or just 'Metallica', was an album that confused the die hards of the band. For those people that they believed  'Kill 'Em All' as the Metallica's best album to date, 'Black Album' was the band's turn to more commercial direction. For me, this is an excellent album, featuring some of the best songwriting Metallica has ever done. Ok, what if  'Black Album'  put Metallica into the mainstream scene? That's not a crime. Every song here is very good to excellent. Heavy but most of all inspired riffs, a super-tight musicianship, strong production, a couple of MTV air plays and here you have one of the best heavy albums in the rock history! A classic!
