First Signal / First Signal (2010)

This is a very good melodic rock album. The well known, from Harem Scarem albums, Harry Hess is the lead singer here and as you asume the performances are all great. Except the lead singing, Hess is responsable also for the songwritting in this project. The mighty Dennis Ward is giving his precious 'helping hand' in this album and the final result will please every melodic fan out there. The songwritting team is completed by  Erik Martensson, Martin Brothers and Richard Marx. So, what we have here is another one project full of melodies, catchy choruses, very good songwritting and an overall good production. I can't say if this album is one of the best that Frontiers records have released, but for sure is a pretty good one. 'This City' which opens the album is probably the best track here. It reminds Harem Scarem's first two efforts. Pure melody! Other highlights here are the amazing mid-tempo/ballad 'Crazy' with a nice chorus and Hess's sensational vocals, the up-tempo 'Feels Like Love This Time', the killer tune of 'Into the Night' and the huge ' Yesterdays Rain', in the vain of W.E.T. project! Overall this is a very interesting release with some very good tracks and a must have for every melodic rock fan.
