House of Lords / The Power And The Myth (2004)

This was the comeback album of House Of  Lords in 2004. After 6 years since the release of "The Power And The Myth" still my feelings are mixed up about this effort. Back then I was so excited about this release, I mean that a record from one of my favourite bands with the original line-up is always a pleasure! Ok, this one maybe it's not a comeback to their glorious 80's /earlier 90's sound but for sure is a House Of Lords album with some really great moments in it. The sound is more updated with some modern hard rock elements but the final result is overall good.  James Christian's voice is on top form, the production is very good and the musicianship is excellent-as always! The low point is that the guitar parts are not as big as they  used to be back then! Also the catchy memorable choruses and melodic hooklines of the past are long gone and their place takes over a more 'mature' sound. My opinion is that if you listen to this album without having in mind House Of Lords' previous records, you will discover a very good hard rock album. Highlights here are : "Today", "All Is Gone", "Child Of Rage" and "Man Who I Am ".
