Masterplan / Time To Be King (2010)

Masterplan are back and this time with Jorn Lande back on board! The fact is that when I heard that Jorn will be back in Masterplan I was excited. I really like the " Aeronautics " & "Masterplan " albums and I love Jorn's voice. But after a few listenings, my feelings are a bit mixed-up! No, I'm not saying that this is a bad record. Maybe with the release of the new Pretty Maids album the title "Time To Be A King" fits better to the great Maids! I don't know but I think that the boys of Masterplan could have done it better than this.
The strong point here is Jorn's fantastic vocals, the man is probably one of the best singers out there. The songwritting is tight and the guitar work is overall good. Some nice melodies filled with good keyboard arrangements and a strong rhythm section but my opinion is that the from the whole album is missing the great moment, or moments. Overall this is a very good release, a safe buy, for the fans of European Melodic Metal sound.
