REVIEW : Crystal Ball, Crysteria (Massacre Records, Release: 28 January 2022)

First of all and before starting to write the review of the up-coming record of Crystal Ball, allow me to say that I'm a 'stranger' regarding the music of these metal veterans. "Crysteria" is already the 11th full-length opus from Crystal Ball.

Some facts about "Crysteria" are that the band's new guitarist Peter Berger has, also, contributed many songs and ideas to this album and the production here is handled by Stefan Kaufmann, who improved even further and reflects the bands live energy perfectly.

The album also features an amazing list of guest musicians such as Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, MSG), Stefan Kaufmann (ex-Accept, ex-U.D.O.), Peter Östros (Jaded Heart), Johan Fahlberg (Jaded Heart) and Torsten Röhre

After a couple spins of "Crysteria", I have to admit that I like it a lot! I really enjoyed every single minute of it! It's heavy, it's powerful, it's melodic and it contains some really excellent hooks and choruses enough to make you turn on the volume!

The fistful and ultra catchy tune of "Call Of The Wild" (Feat. Ronnie Romero), "I Am Rock", "Undying", "Make My Day", "Draw The Line", the 'moodier' hard hittin' tune of "Sole Conviction" and the fantastic bonus "Crystal Heart" are all strong samples out of the new opus!!

It seems like the new year will start with a strong release! Crystal Ball's forth-coming record is what the ordinary hard 'n' heavy fan could ask; power and melody in the right combination!! Highly recommended!
