Founding member of Genesis, Tony Banks, is to release A Chord Too Far as a four-disc boxset, that brings together selected songs from his celebrated solo career. Released on Esoteric Recordings, a Cherry Red Records label, on July 31st.

With a tracklist personally selected by Tony, this special edition set consists of 49 songs  and pieces, many of which have been remixed exclusively for this collection, and are from his seven solo and two orchestral albums -  A Curious Feeling (1979), The Fugitive (1983), The Wicked Lady (1983) (film score), Soundtracks (1986) (a combination of original scores Tony wrote for films Starship and Quicksilver), Bankstatement (1989), Still (1991), Strictly Inc (1995), and his orchestral albums Seven: A Suite for Orchestra (2004) and SIX Pieces for Orchestra (2012) - culminating in this unique collection of his eclectic and diverse music. Also included are four unreleased pieces, three of which are keyboard demos of from his orchestral suites. The other is a piece originally written for the ‘Still’ album.

AOR Heaven will release the new SKINTRADE album Scarred For Life on July 24

SKINTRADE was formed in 1992 by Matti Alfonzetti (vocals), George Bravo (guitar, backing vocals), Stefan Bergström (guitar, backing vocals), Hakan Calmroth (bass) and Håkan Persson (drums, backing vocals). The group's self-titled debut was released in 1993 and received overwhelmingly positive respnse from both media and audience. The singles "Sick As A Dog" and "One By One" were played frequently on the radio and their videos spun on MTV's "Headbangers Ball".

The same year, SKINTRADE was honored with a Zeppelin award for "Best Hard Rock Album" and was nominated for a Swedish Grammis (Grammy equivalent) in the category of "Best Video”. The follow-up CD, "Roach Powder", came out in 1995 with Thomas Skogsberg as a producer (ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER). The videos for the singles "Snap Goes Your Mind" and "Flies" were played regularly on MTV.

Between 1993 and 1995, SKINTRADE embarked on several tours of Europe and played at some of Sweden's and Europe's biggest festivals such as Sweden Rock, Hultsfred, Dala Rock, Dynamo Open Air (Holland) and Rock Am Ring (Germany). SKINTRADE also supported the Danish band D-A-D on their European tour in 1995. One of their last and most memorable gigs took place in late 1995 with the Irish band THERAPY? during a live radio show in Amsterdam, Netherlands. SKINTRADE disbanded shortly thereafter.

MICHAEL MONROE will release a new studio album, Blackout States, on Friday, October 16 via Spinefarm Records.

KKB, Bruce Kulick's first band created back in 1974 with his local friends, singer/bassist Mike Katzand drummer Guy Bois, are releasing a brand new single and CD called 'Got To Get Back.' The new single leads off the CD, which continues with 6 more songs they recorded in 1974. The vintage tracks were revisited for 2015, and the original tapes were totally remixed and remastered.

REVIEW : degreed / Dead But Not Forgotten (2015)

Swedish melodic heavy rockers Degreed are back with a new album which is entitled "Dead But Not Forgotten". After the really solid record "We Don't Belong", in 2013, the band started recording this new opus and as Robin Ericsson (bass/vocals) says : "We've been writing songs for this album on and off since the release of "We Don't Belong" in 2013. I think we had 16-17 songs that we chose from, and recorded 14. The funny thing is that we ended up putting all 14 songs on the album because they're all so freakin' good!"

(Guitarist David "Rock" Feinstein) - Garry had let Carl and I know that he had made friends with Veronica some months ago. After a while he began playing her recordings for us, and we knew after hearing them, that she had a very good voice. Her original music is very good, but quite different than the traditional RODS style, and her voice is powerful with a true "Heavy Metal" edge to it. Soon Garry suggested that maybe she could come and sit in with us to sing a couple of songs. She had already been doing some DIO covers, so we thought that would be a perfect fit. We have a great time playing the DIO songs, and Veronica does an excellent job of singing them. A guest performer is something different for us, but so far it has been great fun, and I think the fans will really love it.

Finnish Metal Icon TIMO TOLKKI creates CHAOS MAGIC with Chilean Singer CATERINA NIX and a new Metal star is born! Debut album out on Frontiers in July.

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the impending release of CHAOS MAGIC's self-titled debut album on July 3rd in Europe and July 10th in North America.

 

The name CHAOS MAGIC encompasses the new alliance between Finnish songwriter/producer Timo Tolkki(former STRATOVARIUS) with Chilean-born singer Caterina Nix. The beautiful singer has already collaborated with Timo on the second chapter of the AVALON Rock Opera “Angels of the Apocalypse”, where she shared lead  vocals on songs with such heavyweight singers as Simone Simons (Epica), Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), and Floor Jansen (Nightwish).

Italian alternative rock band KISMET have released a brand new videoclip. "Clarity” is a song taken from their last full-length ”Shades of Clarity”, released by Dust On The Track Records in 2014.
The video has been produced by Putrefashion Empire. The story is represented in a cinematic style and it is inspired by some John’s Gospel verses with a final plot twist.

Girlschool To Release Special Limited Ep, 'Propaganda!,' To Be Sold Exclusively At Shows

(1 May 2015 – New York City, NY) Legendary all girl British hard rockers Girlschool are gearing up to storm North America for the first time in 20 years, reclaiming their rightful place as the hardest rocking bunch of females to ever destroy a stage.

The band will be previewing tracks from their new album, Guilty As Sin, set for release later this summer via UDR Music and, as a special treat, they will be selling a Special Edition Ep, Propaganda!, featuring two songs from the new album, (“Take It Like A Band” and “Come, The Revolution”) as well as revisiting two tracks from their classic ‘Hit And Run’ album in the form of re-recorded versions of “Kick It Down” and “Watch Your Step.” Rounding out the Ep, which is limited to 300 copies, is the girls’ blistering cover of The Bee Gees classic “Staying Alive.” Both Propaganda! and Guilty As Sin were helmed by legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, etc)
